MLC has taken home the prestigious Life Insurance Company of the Year title at the recent Australia and New Zealand Insurance Industry (ANZIIF) Awards Gala in Sydney.
The judges cited MLC's Upgrade Philosophy as a true differentiator in the Australian marketplace and one of the key factors in their decision to award MLC Insurance Company of the Year for this year.
Joan Fitzpatrick, CEO of the Australia and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance said, "The high levels of innovation, professional standards, customer service and industry leadership demonstrated by the winners set them apart from the rest."
This is the third time that the ANZIIF have awarded MLC the Life Insurance company of the Year title, and comes off the back of other recent accolades at the AFR Smart Investor Blue Ribbon Awards where MLC Income Protection Plus won Income Protection Product of the Year and our Personal Protection Portfolio received a High Commendation.
The ANZIIF judging panel noted:
"MLC impressed judges with its aim to protect the lifestyles of Australians and its strong focus on providing consumers with plain English information explaining the need for insurance in simple, non-threatening ways.
MLC constantly look for ways to improve clients' cover and when they find one, providing it won’t increase premiums, MLC implement it for all new and existing clients through its Upgrade Philosophy.
Approximately 300,000 clients now benefit from upgrades and the organisation has implemented over 200 upgrades in the last 20 years. The upgrade philosophy means that, unlike other insurers, pricing reductions are passed to existing customers as well as new ones."
